Prevage Review
Prevage is an Allergan product available through prescription only. It focuses mostly on the use of antioxidants and the capability to fight free radical and sun damage. They don’t make any huge claims, but focus their formula on a 0.5% concentration of idebenone.
Otherwise, they claim to fight environmental pollutions, cigarettes, sun damage, etc.

Ingredients and Mechanism of Action:
Prevage ingredients include Purified water (aqua), glycerin, cetyl ricinoleate, isohexadecane, ceresin, glyceryl stearate, water. titanium dioxide (C177891), propylene glycol, styrene acrylates copolymer, hydrolyzed corn starch, ammonium hydroxide, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, ethyl-paraben, butylparaben, propylparaben, isopropyl lauroyl sarcosinate, sericin, hydroxydecyl ubiquinone (idebenone), sodium PCA, steareth-2, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG-100 stearate, glycosaminoglycans, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, tocopherol, millet (panicum miliaceum) extract, cholesterol, ceramide III, dimethicone, PEG-50 dipolyhydroxystearate, magnesium aluminum silicate, xanthan gum, cetyl hydroxy-ethylcellulose, disodium EDTA, BHT, diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben.
As you can see there are no wrinkle fighting ingredients in this entire mix or any ingredients you couldn’t find in an over the counter treatment. There are quite a few preservatives, some of which could actually do more damage to your skin than the average day in the sun and make your skin more sensitive to sun and pollutant damage. The concentrations are so small, you will not get any benefits from it, and the only ingredients that you could really say anything good about are the moisturizers, because they moisturize the skin and they are in significant amounts. None of the other ingredients have both these virtues.
Overall Impression of Prevage:
Prevage is a weak formula masked under a prescription requirement. Allergan only sells their products through prescriptions, because they make a substantial amount more money by doing that. Some, like botox, do need to be controlled. But others, such as Prevage have nothing that would require that they be controlled, nor do they contain anything that would actually do what they claim it will do. You may want to buy some other Allergan products, but not Prevage.
