What is Alyria?

Alyria is one sold out of Canada and claiming to optimize your overall skin health. They apparently use the best ingredients and technologies and a patented delivery system. It sounds like an amazing formula when looking at their description. So what do they use: stem cell technology maybe, peptides, nanotechnology, DMAE, there are a variety of things that would provide them with these claims. They even claim their product to be doctor recommended. But their product is sold only through one doctor in each state: allergy specialists, family doctors, not the types you would expect to see peddling this kind of product.

Ingredients and Mechanism of Action:

Alyria ingredients include Aqua, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Aqua, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Behenyl Alcohol, Cetyl Palmitate, Polyacrylamide, C13-C14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, Caprylyl Methicone, Cyclomethicone/Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethiconol Behenate, Isopentyldiol, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Petrolatum, Aqua, Xanthan Gum, Glucose, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Retinol, Methyl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, Titanium Dioxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, Aqua, Dimethicone, BHT, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate.

They use two total useful ingredients that do not qualify as moisturizers or preservatives or industrial chemicals. These are antioxidants, but they are at the bottom of the list, meaning a 1% concentration or less. We would say less. They have no revolutionary wrinkle fighting ingredients, no revolutionary technology, no patented delivery system, nothing.

Overall Impression of Alyria:

Alyria really has nothing to show for all its fancy and attractive claims. We are really not sure why any professed wrinkle cream would use most of these ingredients, all outside of two actually. There are no redeeming qualities, and it would harm regular skin, let alone sensitive skin. We don’t know why doctors are selling it, especially when it does not fall into their field of practice. But we suspect they are paid off.
