What is Elizabeth Arden?

We've all heard the Elizabeth Arden name in a number of different areas such as cosmetics, skincare products, and fragrances. They market toward every group from your grandmother to your 18 year old girl. As such, they have 2 different categories of anti aging products: "Prevage and ceramide." Both claim to reduce wrinkles, lines, crow's feet, bags, etc, and they are both available through department stores like Barney's. Ceramide is one they call a "luxurious formula" with "advanced aging technology."

Price:$260

Ingredients and Mechanism of Action:

Elizabeth Arden products do not provide ingredients lists. To their credit, we have not found a single company who has been around for more than 20 years that does. But this does not excuse their actions or rather inaction. Year ago, when we did not have the technology we do now, especially that surrounding peptides, collagen, elastin, DMAE, hyaluronic acid, etc, you would've had the same chance of success with one product as opposed to another. The difference would lie in how it might feel on your skin at the moment. But with so much technology and so many different components, it has become more important to actually see whether they have made use of their resources or not. Not revealing an ingredients list means they have not, and therefore you really shouldn't be paying more than $10 for a month's supply.

Overall Impression of Elizabeth Arden:

Elizabeth Arden give the impression of luxury, class, beauty, elegance, etc. They have a long history, and they aren't going away any time soon. But they have become too comfortable and forgotten to really cater to the needs of the consumer. In the end, it is always about profit to some degree. But profit should never come at the expense of quality as it has with Elizabeth Arden.
