Eyelastin Review
What is Eyelastin?
Eyelastin is a new eye cream and wrinkle cream claiming to target puffy eyes, dark circles, and those annoying little lines known as crow's feet that surround the eyes and make you look significantly older. They talk about all the muscles and contractions in the face that can cause wrinkles, and they claim to make that specific area more hydrated, smoother, and more youthful as a whole. The truth is that realistically the skin around the eyes is thinner, which is why most people see crow's feet or otherwise before they see any other wrinkles or otherwise signs of aging.
Ingredients and Mechanism of Action:
Eyelastin ingredients include acetyl-hexapeptide-8(argireline), hyaluronic acid, palmitoyl oligopeptide, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, arnica, vitamin K, and dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzlamide diacetate(syn-ake).
The only active ingredients in this formula relax the facial muscles. While this is great for temporary results, you have to be able to build more collagen and elastin, which this formula definitely does not do. This being said, they try to claim that they have an important peptide known as matrixyl. But apparently they mixed up their names, because the one they name is not matrixyl. This being said, none of these peptides can actually penetrate or affect the area around the eyes. They don't even reduce inflammation, and you would actually have to have those that produce more collagen and elastin to thicken the area around the eyes and therefore reduce dark circles.
Overall Impression of Eyelastin:
We are not impressed with Eyelastin. It does not show the results you are looking for or should be looking for, and it will not help you to eliminate wrinkles or anything else for that matter. They don't name ingredients. So we suspect that they may actually have harmful preservatives that damage your skin more than anything else. But the simple fact that they don't have any active ingredients for the area around the eyes or long term results speaks for itself.
