Strivectin SD Review
Strivectin SD is supposed to provide clinically proven results with a “groundbreaking series of studies.” It comes from an expensive line of products produced by the company Klein Becker, notorious for being sued by the FTC for unsubstantiated claims. Apparently, “clinical studies don’t lie”, and they don’t. Our problem is just the fact that Strivectin SD does not have any clinical studies.
Ingredients and Mechanism of Action:
Active ingredients in Strivectin SD include titanium dioxide which is apparently supposed to be 8.1% sunscreen, and zinc oxide which is apparently supposed to be 1.67% sunscreen. Inactive ingredients include Water (Aqua), Striadril Complex (Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide 4, Phyllanthus Emblica Fruit Extract, Siegesbeckia Orientalis Extract, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Glucosamine HCl, Algae Extract, Yeast Extract (Faex), Urea, Centella Asiatica Extract, Echinacea Purpurea Extract, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Starch, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, Asctostaphylos Uva Ursi Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract) (Licorice), C12 15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Cetearyl Olivate, Triethoxysilylethyl Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Hexyl Dimethicone, PPG 12/SMDI Copolymer, Alumina, Sorbitan Olivate, Stearic Acid, Caprylyl Methicone, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil (Sweet Almond), Sesamum Indicum Seed Oil (Sesame), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopherol, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter (Cocoa), Mangifera Indica Seed Butter (Mango), Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Mentha Piperita Oil (Peppermint), Lauryl PEG 9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG 100 Stearate, PEG 8, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Polysorbate 20, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Carbomer, Propylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Triethoxycaprylysilane, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Isopropylparaben, Isobutylparaben.
Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are not sunscreens, they are irritants, industrial chemicals that actually make your skin more sensitive to the sun. They definitely do not affect wrinkles, except to make them more prominent by damaging the skin. The rest of the ingredients are moisturizers and fillers, some of which are also industrial chemicals. So will this improve the condition of your skin? The simple answer, no.
Overall Impression of Strivectin SD:
Strivectin SD is yet another Klein Becker product designed to produce miracles without actually producing miracles, because the “clinical studies don’t lie.” It can be found at your local Walgreens or Rite Aid, and it is vastly over priced to say the least. National pharmacies are like Walmarts. They aren’t known for selling reliable products, just products that make them more money.
